Privacy Policy

What we collect

We collect your name and email address, the dietary profile you set up (allergies, sensitivities, religious restrictions, diets), and the scans you make: photos of labels, menus, or dishes, barcode numbers, the ingredients we read, and the verdicts.

How we use it

We use this data only to run the Service: to check products against your profile, to show your scan history, and to improve the shared product library. We do not sell your personal data.

Service providers

To read labels, menus, and dishes we send the relevant photo or text to our AI provider (Anthropic) for analysis. For barcode lookups we query the public Open Food Facts database. These providers process the data to return a result; we share only what is needed for the check.

Security

Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Sensitive configuration is encrypted at rest. Access to your account is protected by your login.

Children

A parent or guardian can use LabelGuardian to check foods for a child. Accounts are intended for adults; please do not create an account for a child to use on their own without supervision.

Your choices

You can edit your profile at any time and request deletion of your account and data by emailing us. Deleting your account removes your profile and scan history.
